Program for the Cincinnati arts and education Center for the performing arts

The program was divided into three sections:

Literature review: All current performing arts schools in the United States were studied to determine best practices.

Precedent analysis: Specific components were identified as best practices in each school. Specific schools studied in detail were:

Xavier College Preparatory School in AZ, Watts Learning Center in CA, Idyllwild Arts Academy in CA, Hollywood High School, in CA, Center for the Recording Arts in FL., Gentilly Terrace school in LA, Passeo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts in MO, Harlem School of the Arts in NY, South Bronx Academy of Art in NY, Hult Performing Arts Center in OR, Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in PA, Houston High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in TX, Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts in England, and the Burgess School for Performing Arts in England.

Facility detailed program: Meet with all individuals responsible for the process within the school to create a school as creative as the individuals within and function to enhance their study.

The purpose was to document the philosophy, use, major concepts and scope of the proposed facility and as such, it formed the basis for an understanding of the major parameters of the project, including cost.

The overall philosophy for this project is based on integrative thinking as far as the creative and performing arts are concerned, which will not only permeate the curriculum of the new center but one goal is to integrate the new facility with the surrounding community, city, county and region.
